His wife's
name was Betsy Strong. They raised a family of one son and five daughters. Anson, who was
instantly killed by falling from a staging, aged about 30; Caroline, m. William Lamb of Wells; Lucy
Ann, m. Seth Barton, of Dorset ; Harriet, m. Joseph Gilbert, of Cambridge, and died in early life;
Emily, m. Russell Pember, of Wells, and Laura, m. Gerry
Brown. Mr. Bidwell died in 1852, aged 74;
his wife died in 1839, aged 59.
