BRACE, Hon. JONATHAN, from Glastenbury, Conn., 1780. He was probably the first
attorney in town, a man of commanding talents and contributed largely to set the machinery of society in order.
He settled near the present residence of James Leach, the contemplated site at that day of the
county buildings. He was a member of the council of censors in 1785.
In a few years he returned to Connecticut, where he became distinguished in his profession and in public life.
