RICE, JAMES, from Granville, N.Y., 1840, married
Catharine Cushman, who died in 1844; next he married Lois, daughter of Bulkley
Hutchins. He served as deputy sheriff eighteen years and was county
commissioner two years. Since 1861 he has been post master and kept store
at the village. His children’s names are: Daniel, Caroline, Catharine,
Ann and Warren, who married Marcia Smith.
