1866-80, Engaged in drafting and designing plans for machinery
for the Pratt & Whitney Co., Hartford, Conn. Latterly, had supervision
of the Department of Designing.
1880-, Engaged in the same business for the Smyth
Manufacturing Co., inventing and perfecting their line of machines. Also
connected with the Sigourney Tool Co., an important factor in its development
and success.
Married, October 23, 1867, Miss Josephine Bidwell of
Middletown, Conn.
Children: Harry Marcy, born July 16, 1868. In
business in Boston, Mass.
Frank Pratt, born February 13, 1870. Manufacturer,
Hartford, Conn. The two brothers are in business together. The main
office is in Hartford, where the manufacturing is done; the distributing end in
Boston.
