WHITE joined our Class in 1859, and remained with us to the end of Sophomore
year. He was a member of the 'Logian Literary Society. After leaving college he was for
a time a clerk in Springfield, Massachusetts. Then he returned to his old home in
Thompson, Connecticut. Later he located in Westboro, Massachusetts. He writes of
himself, August 8, 1902, in answer to the Class circular, briefly and simply to this effect:
"Aside from answering a few of the leading questions I have no report to make. Have
simply lived a quiet, retired life, mingling with the world at large as little as possible. My
pursuits, until of late, have been purely agricultural. Am married, and now living quietly in
Worcester."
White, born March 16, 1844, was the son of Aaron White, Esq. (Harvard, 1817), and
his wife, Cordelia Parke Barnes, of Thompson, Connecticut. His preparatory studies were
pursued in the Thompson public schools, in Woodstock, Connecticut, and at Nichols
Academy, Dudley, Massachusetts. White married, September 21, 1901, Miss Ida A. Smith,
daughter of Thomas H. Smith and his wife, Caroline E. Studley, of Worcester,
Massachusetts. Present address, 399 Chandler Street, Worcester, Massachusetts.
